Most Apple products come with one year of hardware coverage through the limited warranty. AppleCare plans extend that hardware coverage and provide additional features like accidental damage protection and 24/7 priority support.

AppleCare+ covers a single product. With AppleCare One, you can cover multiple Apple products in a single plan, including new devices and ones you already own subject to eligibility rules and maybe needing diagnostic check and/or inspection.

You can start an AppleCare+ or AppleCare One plan when buying a new product with Apple in person, online, or through the Apple Store app. For 60 days after a new Apple purchase, you can get a new plan through the Settings app on your iPhone, iPad, or Mac. You can also upgrade to an AppleCare One plan if you have an active AppleCare+ plan. When you switch plans, we’ll automatically cancel your current one and refund any amount owed.

Any product that was recently purchased or is currently covered by AppleCare+ can be covered in your existing AppleCare One plan. You can also add devices you already own that are in good condition (a diagnostic check and/or inspection may be required) and four years old or newer or any headphones one year old or newer.

AppleCare One plans can cover devices that are on the same Apple Account as the subscriber.

You can update your AppleCare One plan in Settings > General > AppleCare & Warranty. Tap AppleCare & Warranty to add, remove, or swap devices. Adjust your plan after you upgrade to the latest version of a device you already own or as needed, as long as it meets the eligibility requirements and is linked to your Apple Account. Theft and loss coverage is included for iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch with both your AppleCare+ with Theft and Loss and AppleCare One plans.

When you protect your iPad with an AppleCare+ or AppleCare One plan, you’ll get coverage for accidental damage for one Apple Pencil and one Apple?branded iPad?keyboard. Both plans also cover any cables and power adapters that came with your covered Apple product.

You can get your device repaired a few different ways. You can mail it in using a prepaid shipping label from Apple. Or you can bring it in to an Apple Store or any of the over 5,000 Apple Authorized Service Providers. It depends on your product and the type of repair. Same-day service is available for iPhone in most major metropolitan areas. For most other products, we offer Express Replacement Service, where we’ll send you a device so you don’t have to wait for a repair. If your iPhone, iPad, or Apple Watch is lost or stolen, you can get started on filing a claim at mysupport.apple.com/theftandloss. Your replacement will be shipped to you and cannot be picked up at a store.
